Jyoti Ironwood

500RYT

Jyoti, an E-RYT-500, has facilitated heart-centered yoga classes for over four decades.

Her yoga journey began as a teenager fascinated with belief systems and philosophies of the world who dialed in on Eastern traditions and teachings about the Eight Limbs of Yoga. After attempting to practice asana, pranayama and meditation mostly on her own for a several years, Jyoti met her first great in-person yogaeinfluence and mentor, Nancy Clark of The British Wheel of Yoga and Anahata Centre. Under Nancy’s expert guidance, Jyoti began leading classes in 1980. In 1984, Jyoti spent two months in an immersive residential and traditional Eight Limbs Advanced Yoga Teacher training directed by Baba Hari Dass at Mount Madonna Center near Santa Cruz, CA.

She has continued learning and enhancing her yoga education with periodic additional trainings and workshops to the present.

Jyoti delights in sharing the body, mind and spirit benefits of yoga with people of all ages and physical situations. She also believes that yoga practice is a way of being both on and off the mat and aims to instruct in ways that are playful and functional.

Along with her passion for yoga, Jyoti loves spending time in nature and with her family, friends, and of course with Daisy, her miniature black lab.
