Yoga Loft Tucson | Saturday, November 15 | 10:00 am – 4:30 pm

If you're a certified yoga teacher who wants to grow your confidence, refine your teaching skills, and make your classes more accessible for every student in the room, this one-day retreat is for you.
The Yoga Teacher Day Retreat: Uplevel Your Teaching was created to help yoga teachers move beyond memorized cues and build a stronger foundation in anatomy, language, and support. Whether you’re a newer teacher or simply feeling stuck in your routine, this is a space to reconnect with why you teach and learn tools that help you do it with more clarity and purpose.
This event will take place in person at Yoga Loft Tucson and offers 6 continuing education units (CEUs) for Yoga Alliance registered teachers.
Why This Yoga Teacher Retreat Is Different
Many yoga teachers leave their 200-hour programs feeling unprepared to teach in a real, inclusive space. Cueing from memory or sticking to scripted sequences can limit your ability to truly support the humans in front of you. This retreat helps you break out of that pattern.
Ashlee McDougall and Jackie Whately, co-owners of Yoga Loft Tucson, are offering a hands-on, highly practical retreat that focuses on how real bodies move. With over 25 years of combined experience, they bring deep knowledge, supportive guidance, and a grounded approach to teaching yoga that honors both tradition and individuality.
You won’t be sitting through hours of lecture. You’ll be moving, practicing, experimenting, and learning in real time. The goal is to give you a set of tools you can actually use in class the very next day.
Build Skills That Make Your Classes More Accessible
Accessibility isn’t just about props or modifications. It’s about understanding how different bodies move and offering language that empowers every student to feel seen and supported.
At this retreat, you’ll learn how to teach from the ground up, literally. Jackie’s anatomy session will focus on the role of the feet, ankles, and stabilizing muscles in building strong, safe movement. Ashlee will lead a workshop on cueing that helps you move away from one-size-fits-all instructions and toward layered, intelligent language that supports every student.
You’ll also get dedicated time for hands-on assist practice, focusing on standing and balancing postures like Warrior I, Warrior II, Warrior III, Crescent, Low Lunge, and Half Moon. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how to offer stabilizing support that respects boundaries and builds trust.
